Your Business Needs Stories
Research has shown that one of the principal influences on the consumer’s decision to buy is whether or not they like your brand and products. They won’t buy something they dislike but are much more likely to buy if they have the positive emotional engagement that “likeability” confers. If you can create a good story that makes your brand or products seem more likable, that will have a more significant impact on your potential purchasers than anything else you can do. Research has also shown that a television commercial that tells the story is three times more effective, and a written advert that tells a story is twice as effective. Your story can reach out and pull in your potential customers in ways that raw data can't match. If you tell...

Do you have a story? Sure you do…
Did you know you have multiple captivating stories you can share with your audience? Storytelling has existed since the beginning of humanity. Yet, in business, we often forget to tell our stories, and it’s a shame because stories are one of the best ways to connect with customers and encourage them to take action. We often focus on objective data, facts and figures, product features, charts, technology, and engagement through social media in business. However, storytelling reaches people on an emotional level. Stories communicate to the listener exactly what you do and what you stand for. Therefore, it’s essential to craft compelling stories, both about yourself and your business. Stories work well because they’re exciting and engaging. You can practically take any content that may be slightly dry or dull and weave it together...

Influence – A powerful way to quickly boost your business!
Did you know that having influence can have a powerful impact on your business? Just look at Oprah, Anthony Robbins, Bill Gates, Dr. Phil McGraw, Warren Buffett, Dr. Oz, and many others. They all have a tremendous influence on millions of people, and they accomplished it by consistently delivering their message through various news media platforms. This is my story…
Hey! It's Monica here. I hope you are having a fantastic day. It’s funny how a small thing can change your life.  The turning point for me was an interview I did for a local talk show many years ago. That interview transformed my business. You see, at the time, I had no idea about marketing, let alone publicity, and I had no idea how my next sale was going to be generated. All I knew was that I had to create exposure as cheaply as possible. Regardless of how small it was, getting an interview seemed like a way to get my message out. I still remember it like it was yesterday.  There I was, in a little studio, being interviewed about my first book. Over 20 years ago, I had the rare...

Experts Tips to Help You Get Free Publicity
How can you get your story picked up by the media? Here are a few practical tips to follow.
  1. First become familiar with the media outlets you plan to contact. Your pitch should address how your story will work for them. In your pitch, tell them what makes your story right for them.

  2. Show producers and journalists receive hundreds of pitches every week, so don't take "no" personally. It could be that they recently did a similar story, or your particular story angle just isn't right for them, or it might not be the best time for your type of story.  Timing is very important when it comes to introducing story ideas to the media. Ask them if someone else may have an interest in your story.

  3. If at first, you...
